A reading goal becomes easier when it is specific. This calculator turns page progress and available time into a daily target you can actually use—without an account, streak pressure or a complicated tracking system.

A simple reading routine

How to use your reading plan

1. Start with honest numbers.

Enter the book’s printed or displayed page count and the last page you completed.

2. Estimate your real pace.

Time one normal reading session and divide the minutes by the pages read.

3. Protect reading days.

Choose only the days you can reasonably read. A smaller dependable schedule is more useful than seven imagined sessions.

4. Use the daily target.

Read the suggested pages or minutes, then stop without guilt. Consistency matters more than occasional long sessions.

5. Update your page.

Load the saved book and enter your new page. The plan recalculates around your current progress.

6. Back up what matters.

Export your reading list before clearing browser data or moving to another device.

Common questions

Reading Progress Calculator FAQs

How is reading progress calculated?

Reading progress is your current page divided by the book's total pages, multiplied by 100. A reader on page 120 of a 400-page book is 30% complete.

How does the calculator estimate my finish date?

The calculator combines your remaining pages, reading pace, available minutes and number of reading days per week. It then estimates how many reading sessions you need and maps them to a calendar date.

What should I enter for minutes per page?

Use a recent reading session as a guide. Divide the minutes you read by the pages completed. If you are unsure, begin with two minutes per page and adjust the result after your next session.

Can I calculate how many pages to read each day?

Yes. Choose Finish by a date, enter your target date and the days you normally read. The calculator will show the pages and estimated minutes needed on each reading day.

Can I save more than one book?

Yes. You can save up to twelve books in the browser and return to update their current pages. You can also export a JSON backup and import it later.

Are my saved books private?

Yes. Your saved books stay in local browser storage on your device. Mindset Palette does not receive the titles or progress you enter.

What happens if I clear my browser data?

Local browser data may be removed when you clear site data, use private browsing or change devices. Export your reading-list backup if you want a portable copy.

Does the tool work for ebooks and audiobooks?

It works best with books that provide a page count. For an ebook, use its displayed page count. Audiobook progress is better measured using total and remaining listening time.
